International Code for the Construction of Equipment of Ships carrying Dangerous Chemicals in Bulk (IBC Code) Available for purchase	The IBC Code provides an international standard for the safe carriage in bulk by sea of dangerous chemicals (453) and noxious liquid substances listed in Chapter 17 of the Code.	Design and construction standards of ships and the equipment they should carry to minimize the risks to the ship, its crew and the environment. The IBC Code lists chemicals and their hazards (ﬂammability, toxicity, corrosivity and reactivity) and gives both the ship type required to carry that product as well as the environmental hazard rating.
